Empowering People, Strengthening Community
Why I'm Running for Columbia Falls City Council:
Columbia Falls is growing fast—and that growth comes with big choices. Will we let change shape us, or will we shape it for the common good?
I believe in a future where Columbia Falls keeps its roots—strong, grounded, and neighborly—while making sure that growth benefits everyone, not just a few. That means investing in public needs, supporting working families, and making decisions that reflect the voices of the whole community.
Whether you were born here or just got here, this place is home.
Let’s build a future that works for all of us—together.
What Christopher Wants to do for You:
Building a Columbia Falls That Works for Everyone
Life in Columbia Falls is changing. As costs rise and growth accelerates, working families, seniors, and young people are all feeling the strain. I’m committed to building a city that puts people before profits—where housing is affordable, public spaces are vibrant, and everyone has access to the services and support they need to live with dignity.
That means investing in parks, trails, and community centers. It means prioritizing public infrastructure and strong local services. And it means treating neighbors not as competitors, but as collaborators in a shared future.
Development That Puts People First
As Columbia Falls continues to grow, we need to make sure that development reflects the needs of the people who live here—not just developers looking to cash in. On City Council, I’ll support zoning decisions and land-use policies that prioritize affordable housing, protect green space, and encourage locally owned businesses over corporate chains.
I’ll also push for walkable, connected neighborhoods by supporting investment in sidewalks, bike paths, and accessible infrastructure—especially in areas that have been overlooked. Small, thoughtful choices about how our town grows can make a big difference in everyday life.
Fair Wages, Strong Labor, and Local Opportunity
A strong community means stable, family-supporting jobs. I believe everyone deserves a living wage—and that includes support for collective bargaining rights and ethical labor standards. By building partnerships with local businesses and unions, we can grow a resilient economy that works for the many, not just the few.
Affordable Housing Rooted in Equity
Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. I support policies that increase access to affordable housing without displacing the people who already live here. That includes revising zoning laws to support diverse housing options and pushing back against unchecked speculation that prices out working-class residents.
Housing isn’t just an economic issue—it’s a human right, and we should treat it as such.
Supporting Our Farmers and Protecting Farmland
Columbia Falls may not have a long history of large-scale farming, but our community values the local farms and green spaces that enrich our lives. I’m dedicated to protecting these lands from overdevelopment and supporting sustainable farming efforts that provide fresh, healthy food. By promoting thoughtful land use and backing local growers, we can nurture a stronger, more resilient community while preserving the natural beauty we all cherish.
A Government That Listens
Change should be something we shape together. I believe real democracy starts with listening—especially to those who are often ignored. That means open forums, transparent decisions, and making sure everyday people have a voice in how Columbia Falls grows and governs.
Protecting Our Shared Resources
Water, land, and public services aren’t private assets—they belong to all of us. I support sustainable development, responsible water management, and protecting open space and farmland from corporate overreach. Let’s grow in a way that honors the land and future generations.
Community Safety Through Care and Connection
Everyone deserves to feel safe—but real safety comes from stable housing, accessible mental health care, well-lit public spaces, and a strong sense of community. I support alternatives to policing that prioritize prevention, crisis intervention, and compassionate care—because safety should uplift, not intimidate.
Building an Inclusive Community Where Everyone Belongs
I believe Columbia Falls must be a place where all residents feel valued and respected, no matter their race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs , gender identity, economic status, or country of origin. Discrimination divides us and weakens our community. That’s why I will support initiatives that promote equity, fight bias, and ensure fair treatment for everyone. Together, we can create a city where diversity is celebrated and every neighbor has equal access to opportunity and dignity.
